This is one the best action/fiction movies that I saw on the topic.
High tension, good actors, and a lot of hi-tech details on the
alien creature that make the movie more interesting from a scientific
point of view.
What I liked most
The invisible suit used by the alien creature is quite realistic:
the deflection of light around its surface creates a distorsion
around its border, where light beams are more compressed.
As a consequence, although invisible, the creature can slightly
be perceived from its contour, which is enhanced during motion
due to a changing background. Good science fiction takes physics
into account!
The Predator's self-destruct device. When (at the end of the movie)
the creature sets the timer for the final explosion, we see a sequence
of strange symbols appearing on its display: a kind of digits of an
alien numerical system. Great detail.
Other hi-tech devices include shoulder mounted, visually directed,
laser guided, smart missiles and multi spectrum visors for detecting and
attacking intelligent beings, like humans.
