Follow us on streming

There is a streaming for each talk. Just check the Program. Small changes to the program are possible to accommodate on-line needs. We apology with our friends following on streaming.

Focus of RTS-LIKE

Since March 30 2014, the new scheduling class SCHED_DEADLINE is available in the Linux kernel (from version 3.14). This opportunity enables the enforcement of a real-time behavior to the scheduled threads.

The Workshop on Real-Time Scheduling in the Linux Kernel (RTS-LIKE) aims at introducing the participants to real-time issues when scheduling threads, and present how this issues are addressed with the SCHED_DEADLINE scheduling class.

Finally, the SCHED_DEADLINE internals and the current development status will be presented, as well as an open discussion on future directions of the Linux kernel scheduler.

Venue and Hotels

The workshop will take place at ReTiS Lab, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy

Being high season, we recommend to reserve an accommodation as soon as possible. The simplest way is probably

  • search on booking (or whatever else you like more) for an accommodation in Pisa
Some info you may find useful are reported below:
  • Pisa is a small town, walking distance from the city center to the venue is 20 minutes
  • you can reach our lab by public transportation, via LAM Verde (approx one every 10 minutes in rush hours), from the station (15 minutes to the venue) or from the city center (9 minutes to the venue)
  • a convenient way to move around Pisa is by bike. You can rent one (and a lock!) in many places
  • you may also consider to stay at some bed-and-breakfast in the countryside between San Giuliano Terme and Pisa, and then come by bike or car
  • you may consider to stay in some towns nearby, such as Lucca (nice medieval town) or Livorno (on the seaside) and then come by train (and then by bus to the lab)
